$ tar xf mummer-4.0.0rc1.tar.gz
$ cd mummer-4.0.0rc1
$ ./configure --prefix=/export/apps/mummer/4.0.0rc1
$ make
$ sudo mkdir -p /export/apps/mummer/4.0.0rc1
$ sudo chown aorth /export/apps/mummer/4.0.0rc1
$ make install
$ sudo chown -R root:root /export/apps/mummer/4.0.0rc1</code>
