$ wget ftp://emboss.open-bio.org/pub/EMBOSS/EMBOSS-6.6.0.tar.gz
$ tar xf EMBOSS-6.6.0.tar.gz
$ cd EMBOSS-6.6.0
$ ./configure --prefix=/export/apps/emboss/6.6.0
$ make -j4
$ sudo mv /export/apps/emboss/6.6.0 /export/apps/emboss/6.6.0.old
$ sudo mkdir /export/apps/emboss/6.6.0
$ sudo chown aorth:aorth /export/apps/emboss/6.6.0
$ make install
$ sudo chown -R root:root /export/apps/emboss/6.6.0</code>
